Now a day’s even 13 to 18 years old aged boys and girls falling under love (but really they don’t know that’s Infatuation). An adolescent may start believing that he/she is in love with someone. That person may be a classmate. College mate neighbour, teacher, known family member or a public celebrity. Infatuation is the state of being completely carried away by unreasoning passion or love. A feeling of being in love with another person. The person interprets any encounter with that person as love encounters and starts telling that the other person is reciprocating the love/ the person decides to go ahead and get married to that individual forgetting all the practical problems and social restrictions. He/she comes to know the real fact that the other person is not reciprocating the love; the result may be a disaster,
- A foolish and usually extravagant passion or love or admiration
- Temporary love of an adolescent
- An object of extravagant short-lived passion
Reasons for adolescent fall in love or be infatuated
There may or may not be any reason to fall in love.
- It comes with mixed emotions and may be caused by physical attraction, intellectual and emotional compatibility.
- Infatuation, on the other hand, may start with physical attraction and gives a feeling of being in love.
Infatuation is generally in the context of teenage or adolescence.
- Anyone can be in love at any age, but most love stories before the age of 18 is considered infatuation or “puppy love”.
