Pain in vagina and bleeding after sex

Question: Hi doctor, Am 33 years old women suffering with pain and bleeding after sex for 1 years. Is this sign of cervical cancer?

Answer: Hello No worries, Not all Painful intercourse and bleeding ends with cancer. Even though possible to get cancer.  Cancer is caused by a virus called human papillomavirus (HPV). You may infect with HPV by having sex with someone who has it. You can have HPV for many years and not know it. It stays in your body and can lead to cervical cancer.

PAP Smear test helps to find cervical cancer. Cervical carcinoma is diagnosed by clinical examination and pap test followed by biopsy of the cervix.

Early detection is the key for cure of cervical carcinoma.
